  • Preschool Classroom Assistant

    The Woodlands Methodist School – Preschool is currently seeking candidates for Preschool Classroom Assistant positions in classrooms for children two – four years old for the 2018-2019 school year. This position assists the teacher in working with children, preparing materials, cleaning the rooms, and supervision.

    Education and Experience:

    • Each assistant should have a minimum of two years of college credit
    • Three years of experience working with children is preferred
    • Assistants must be committed Christians comfortable sharing their faith with children and families

    JOB DUTIES:

    • Assist the classroom teacher with assigned tasks, following daily plans that support the school’s Guiding Principles and policies
    • Assist with children in the classroom, in a large group, small group or with individual students
    • Work directly with children to meet individual needs
    • Collaborate with the Director and other staff in activities involving the whole program
    • Assist with car line and other assigned school-wide duties
    • Be involved in learning appropriate classroom practices through modeling, continuing
    • education, and an awareness of accreditation standards and licensing requirements
    • Meet licensing and school requirements for in-service training and professional growth in a timely manner
    • Cooperate with others who share the classroom, including school staff and other TWUMC ministries

     

    CLASSIFICATION:

    • Work days vary: MWF, TTh, or M-Th
    • Toddlers/Twos Work Hours: 8:15-1:30

  • Preschool Receptionist

    Job Summary:

    This position is the first point of contact for The Woodlands Methodist School Preschool. The qualified candidate will possess a welcoming demeanor and a strong sense of professionalism. The Preschool Receptionist should be someone that is approachable and responsive. This position sits at the front reception desk of the Preschool and welcomes and answers questions or directs parents and/or visitors. This position is part-time, approximately 28 hours/week.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Support mission statement, guiding principles and school philosophy
    • Greet and assist parents and visitors as needed
    • Answer phones, check messages on voice mail, forward or return calls on the day received
    • Promptly and pleasantly address all concerns
    • Monitor all preschool radio requests and respond immediately
    • Assist with tours by welcoming and registering visitors
    • Maintain a secure area for children by identifying visitors
    • Assist office staff with data entry and various projects as needed
    • Communicate building and playground janitorial needs to appropriate personnel
    • Assist with school-wide events
    • Mail brochures and other information to those who request it
    • Accept and sign for deliveries
    • Copy and log in all checks received and deliver daily deposit to TWUMC safe
    • Be knowledgeable about school and TWUMC programs and events
    • Maintain computer, computer programs and skills
    • Meet licensing and school requirements for in-service training and professional growth in a timely manner
    • Cooperate with administrative staff regarding needs of staff and school
    • Perform other duties as needed

    Qualifications:

    • High school graduate; an associate’s or bachelor’s degree is preferred
    • General office experience and good organizational skills
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel
    • Must be a committed Christian comfortable sharing their faith with children and families

  • Preschool Spanish Classroom Assistant

    The Woodlands Methodist School – Preschool is currently seeking candidates for a Preschool Spanish Classroom Assistant position in a four year old classroom for the 2018-2019 school year. This position assists the Spanish teacher in working with children, preparing materials, cleaning the rooms, and supervision.

    Education and Experience:

    • Each assistant should have a minimum of two years of college credit
    • Three years of experience working with children is preferred
    • Fluent Spanish speaker preferred
    • Assistants must be committed Christians comfortable sharing their faith with children and families
    • Must meet licensing requirements; which includes fingerprinting and an extensive background check

    JOB DUTIES:

    • Assist the classroom teacher with assigned tasks, following daily plans that support the school’s Guiding Principles and policies

    • Assist the classroom teacher by creating a classroom environment that emphasizes a Spanish focus
    • Work directly with children to meet individual needs

  • Preschool Eaglet Club Assistant

    The Woodlands Methodist School – Preschool is currently seeking candidates for Preschool Eaglet Club Assistant positions for the 2018-2019 school year. Eaglet Club is optional extended care for enrolled students. Eaglet Club is available to preschool students after their school day until 2:45 p.m. This position is responsible for supervising children during Eaglet Club.

    Education and Experience:

    • High School graduate, some college preferred
    • An interest in working with young children and a willingness to work under the supervision of the Eaglet Club Coordinator
    • Must be a committed Christian comfortable sharing their faith with children and families
    • Must meet licensing requirements; which includes fingerprinting and an extensive background check

     

    JOB DUTIES:

    • Be available to work from 12:45 p.m. – 3:15 p.m.
    • Work with and supervise children participating in Eaglet Club who will be engaging in art, learning centers, snack, and playground activities
    • Supervise rest time
    • Help with arrival and dismissal to Eaglet Club
    • Follow daily plans in meeting with the school philosophy
    • Collaborate with the Preschool Director, staff, and Eaglet Club Coordinator in all Eaglet Club activities

    The Woodlands Methodist School – Preschool is currently seeking candidates for teacher positions in classrooms for children four years old for the 2018-2019 school year. This position is responsible for providing the best possible learning environment for children. Teachers must be able to meet all state licensing requirements as well as accreditation criteria. Teachers must be committed Christians. This is a part-time position.

    Education and Experience:

    • Each teacher should have a baccalaureate degree, preferably in Early Childhood Education or a related area
    • Teaching certification is highly preferred
    • Three years of experience working with children is preferred

    • Bachelor’s degree and current Texas Registered Nursing License
    • At least two years of experience in Pediatric Health Care
    • Current Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification

    The Woodlands Methodist School – Lower/Middle School is currently seeking candidates for Eagle Club Assistant positions for the 2018-2019 school year. Eagle Club is optional extended care for enrolled students. Eagle Club is available to lower and middle school students before school from 7:30-8:30 a.m. or after school until 5:30 p.m. This position is responsible for supervising students during Eagle Club.

    Education and Experience:

    • High School graduate, some college preferred
    • An interest in working with children Kindergarten through 8th grade and a willingness to work under the supervision of the Eagle Club Coordinator
    • Must be a committed Christian comfortable sharing their faith with children and families
    • Must meet licensing requirements; which includes fingerprinting and an extensive background check

     

    JOB DUTIES:

    • Be available for a shift from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. or 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

    The Woodlands Methodist School – Lower and Middle School is currently seeking candidates for an Eagle Club Coordinator position for the 2018-2019 school year. Eagle Club is optional extended care for enrolled students. Eagle Club is available to Lower and Middle School students after their school day. This position is responsible for supervising Eagle Club Assistants and collaborating with administrative staff, setting up daily schedules and submitting drop in charges to School Business Office.

    Education and Experience:

    • College graduate preferred
    • An interest in working with young children
    • Ability to supervise and lead others; prior supervisory experience is required
    • Strong communication skills
    • High energy, enthusiastic and compassionate
    • Must be a committed Christian comfortable sharing their faith with children and families

    • Be available to work from 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm
    • Supervise Eagle Club Assistants
    • Implement daily plans that support the school’s Guiding Principles and policies
    • Create age-appropriate daily plans including homework, games, and indoor and outdoor play as time and weather permits
    • Work with and supervise children participating in Eagle Club who will be engaging in art, homework activities, and playground activities
    • Help with arrival and dismissal to Eagle Club
    • Collaborate with the Office Coordinator in all Eagle Club activities
    • Meet licensing and school requirements for in-service training and professional growth in a timely manner
    • Cooperate with others who share the classroom, including school staff and other TWUMC ministries
